We drove up to the Canyon from Flagstaff late in the afternoon. The first thing we did up there was visit the backcountry office to see if there were any openings at Cottonwood Campground. There were not. I asked about a waitlist and the south rim BCO called the north rim BCO and got us on the list. It means we have to be at the north rim when the BCO opens on Sunday morning... at 8am. To pull that off we would need to leave Flagstaff around 4:30 or 5 at the latest. I think we are pretty much guaranteed a slot if we get there when they open so we are going to try for it. It would make for a much more relaxing trip especially for Robin. Hiking up Wall Creek could be a pain in the butt and I would rather not deal with it if we don't have to.

After the BCO we headed over to the Community Center to pick up our tickets for tomorrows Grand Canyon Association Member's Day activities with the Grand Canyon Association.

After that we headed over to the Bright Angel Lodge to get some dinner, then out to the rim to watch sunset and finally over to the Shrine of the Ages for the Grand Canyon Music Festival. The performance was very good and we were back at the house in Flagstaff around 11:00.
