Hance Rapids

Red Canyon Trail
The Red Canyon Trail was previously known as the New Hance Trail. This trail was constructed by John Hance following numerous washouts of his original trail (Old Hance Trail) which eventually rendered it impassable. Even this new trail is not to be taken lightly, as it is no longer maintained and its upper sections can be quite treacherous, especially if covered with even the slightest hint of snow or ice.

Rim to River - 7 (very hard) miles
