On the last day I was up early and took the Clear Creek Trail back to the North Kaibab Trail to Phantom Ranch. From there I took the River Trail over to the Bright Angel Trail and headed for the south rim.

01:15 pm - Back on the rim

I got back to the rim around 12:30 and after dropping off my gear at the car I immediately headed over here, to the Maswik Lodge cafeteria, for some real food. It’s sort of a tradition now when hiking out on the Bright Angel Trail.

The day started at 4:00 when I got up and started breaking camp. I was on the trail by 4:50 and got to Phantom Ranch about 6:15. I got some coffee there to go with my trail mix for breakfast. I did not stay long and was back on the trail by just a little after 6:30.

I stopped to take photos of some mule deer between Phantom Ranch and Bright Angel campground but I did not stop much else on rest of the way out, just about 10 minutes at Indian Garden and another 5 minutes or so at the One-and-half-mile resthouse. I did not set any record but I think I made pretty good time.
