We were up before the canyon wrens this morning. I started packing up my gear at 4:45 and was ready to go by 5:30. We did not get out of camp until 6 though. Kim and I took the lead and booked it back out to the rim, getting there just a little past noon. Very cool.

We did not stop much at all on the way out. I stopped here and there to snap pictures but aside from that we pretty much jsut kept going. We stopped for somewhat longer breaks at the junction of the Tonto and Hermit Trails, for breakfast, and then again at Lookout Point, just for a brief rest. We did have an extended stop near Santa Maria Spring again so that Kim could pack up that leaky herbicide container. I found a couple of groups of hikers who were heading into the Canyon to talk to while she was doing that.

When we finally did get back to the rim I hung out with her until 1:30. At that point there was still no sign of Steve and Ryan and I needed to get going so I left and headed back to our home in Flagstaff.
