Well, the day started off good anyway: a Navajo Taco for breakfast at the El Tovar; catching up on my journal entries; a nice walk along the rim...

The GCHBA board meeting was over in less than 2 hours but I did not get away before getting a couple of action items. They were things I knew I had to do anyway but now people know I have to do them. Oh, well... We all had lunch at the Maswik cafeteria and then hiked down to Indian Garden. I met up with Chuck about halfway down and completed the 4.5-mile hike in 1 hour and 20 minutes, a new record for me.

Chuck made us burgers (chicken and beef) for dinner and we all ate way too much. We talked for a while after dinner and discussed plans for the next two days and then we all retired to our respective sleeping quarters.

I logged onto the net for the first time in 9 or 10 days and that was when the trouble started. I got caught up on my e-Mail and checked some of my friend's journals and the day went very much downhill from there.
