05:30 Get up and start packing up site before having breakfast. There was lots of lightening in the distance but no storm here. It seemed very far off to the east. Beautiful sunrise.
06:50 First group (with me) heads out.
07:25 At NPS Nankoweap trailhead. Wait for entire party to regroup before continuing. NPS BCO people here as well. Talk with them for a while. They seemed to have lost one of their party and are waiting for him to catch up. Eventually he shows up.
07:40 Head out.
09:05 On top of plateau. Take another rest and regroup break.
09:20 Head out again - last leg to the rim.
10:10 Parking lot at Saddle Mountain trailhead. It is a very good day to be alive and feels really great to be out this early.

I consider the trip to be a success even though I did not get to Mystic Falls or the Kolb Arch. At least I did get to climb Nankoweap Butte.

Take some final photos. Everyone agrees to meet at Jacob Lake for lunch.
