Happy Birthday Robin!

I actually snuck her present into her own backpack and made her carry it in. It was a sweatshirt with a cat on it that I picked up during the convention in Las Vegas the prior week. She loved it.

After breakfast we went for a short hike along the Clear Creek Trail. We went first up to the Phantom Overlook and then from there up onto the Tonto Platform on the north side of the river. We only ended up going as far as the drainage between Sumner and Bradley Point off of Zoroaster Temple before turning around and heading back to the Ranch but it was long enough for me to fall in love with the Clear Creek Trail. I was aching to follow the trail all the way to the other end but I knew that would have to wait for another time.

We were back at our cabin for lunch where we polished off some more food intended for the backpacking trip. We also had a visit from one of the locals, Phantom Ranch's resident turkey.

Later in the afternoon we went and did some hiking down by the river.

We had the stew dinner again for our last night and it was as wonderful as I remembered from the first night. Since chocolate cake is served for dessert every night Robin even got her birthday cake.
